Welcome to Year 4
We hope you had a great summer and are looking forward to the new academic year. We are so happy to see you all again and to welcome new families to the school. We are very excited about the year ahead and school life involving our school community being together again.
In ‘The Year of Discovery’ children will have the opportunity to be scientists, engineers and historians: they will be conducting investigations, creating and making, problem-solving, exploring our local area and most of all, having lots of fun! In the second half of the Autumn term, we will be holding a special engineering week - ‘Fun at the Fair’. During this week, children will be involved in designing, testing ideas and creating fairground rides. There will also be a home-learning challenge that the children can complete with you. As always, we will also be focusing on reading a wide variety of different texts, which are not only great stories and poems, but also enable the children to discover more about the world they live in, and the perspectives and experiences of a diverse range of people. As part of our on-going commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the children and staff will be discovering more about an increasingly diverse range of people, places, historical events and scientific discoveries.
