Collective worship is an important part of our daily life, giving children a time to reflect and learn, to thank and to celebrate, and to build a sense of togetherness. There are daily opportunities for prayer in class, and every class has a prayer corner.
Our school prayer asks God to help us in our day to day relationships and attitudes:
Lord of the loving heart, may ours be loving too.
Lord of the gentle hands, may ours be gentle too.
Lord of the willing feet, may ours be willing too.
So may we grow more like you, in all we say and do.
Amen
Generations of children at St Clement and St James have been saying this prayer – no one remembers who wrote it!
We welcome families of many faiths and recognise that our community includes many different religions and ethnicities and we have much to learn from each other. Prayer is an open invitation for all children to reflect and pray in the way that feels most comfortable for them.
