At St Thomas’ we have a strong, distinctive Christian ethos and encourage children to develop values of Forgiveness, Friendship, Perseverance and Respect. We ensure that children learn these values through the teachings and stories that Jesus told. Children have opportunities to think about and apply Christian values through religious education lessons, collective worship and as an integral part of our curriculum.
In addition we welcome families of many faiths and recognise that our community includes many different religions and ethnicities and we have much to learn from each other.
We have very good links with our local church, St Thomas' Kensal Town. We would like to introduce our lovely priest Father Samuel McNally-Cross. The school gathers at the church at least once every half term where we celebrate events such as Harvest, Christmas and St Thomas’ day.
During the day there are opportunities for prayer and reflection. Here is our school prayer:
Oh Lord bless our school
So that by learning together and praying together
We may learn to serve you and serve one another
Through Jesus Christ Our Lord
Amen
Here are some beautiful prayers written by St Thomas' children
Grace's prayer: Dear God, Thank you for our freedom and for providing us with a voice that can be heard. Please help us to make sure that everyone feels equal and loved. Amen.
Raeon's prayer: Thank you for our beautiful planet. Please help us to look after each other and all the animals. We pray that mankind will do its best to protect all living things. Amen.
