Dear All,
I hope this finds you well and the new year has started smoothly.
I’m aware that you may have had these dates already, but I wanted to write personally to ask that you publicise them to your Y5 & 6 parents.
·KAA Y6 Open Mornings – Monday 20th September, Tuesday 21st September and Wednesday 22nd September (9.15am-10.30am)
·KAA Y6 Open Evening – Thursday 23rd September (5pm-7.30pm)
Parents can register via our website at https://kaa.org.uk/admissions/academy-open-days/ - this is especially important for Open Mornings where space is limited.
We have a flyer advertising these which I will send some copies out to you all about – please share with parents. I have attached this and our prospectus to this email.
A final point is that if any of you feel it would be helpful for me or one of my team to come and talk to parents directly at your school one afternoon in Sept or Oct, please let me know and we will do our best to set this up.

Dear Headteacher/Year 6 Transition Lead,
Finding the right secondary school for Year 6 students can be a challenging process for parents. To help make the process as simple and as easy as possible for parents, Hammersmith Academy has put together a menu of different events and resources.
Open Events
We will be welcoming prospective parents to the Academy once again this term. The Open Events offer prospective parents and students the chance to experience the Academy’s ethos and state-of-the-art facilities.
The key dates are as follows:

Fairbanding Tests
Applicants must complete a banding test as part of the admission criteria. The early banding test can be sat if parents prefer to know the band in which their child will be placed, prior to their application being submitted.

Fair Banding – Saturday 27th November 2021 – Registration not required, applicants will be automatically invited once they have applied for their secondary school choices.

Virtual Classroom Visit
Our transition team can visit your Year 6 classes via zoom to talk about life in secondary school and take them on a virtual tour of the Academy. The team will also be on hand to answer questions from students aided by a Year 7 student.

Your Events for Parents
If you would like our transition team to represent the Academy at one of your transition events/fairs to provide information to your Year 6 parents, please drop our team an email on admissions@hammersmithacademy.org. We always try to accommodate visits as best we can.
